We got Mack in October.  He was a scrappy little kitten then, but he has found his kingdom in our house.   As he approaches one year old, we think he has turned out to be a very handsome boy and a wonderful addition to our family! Thanks Doc Williams SPCA.

Koda, adopted by Daniel Britt
I brought Eskimo home on August 1st (she was called Chrissy at the center, but it just didn't work without her siblings Jack and Janet).  She got her name because she loves to snuggle and rub her nose all over your face.  She was a little fuzz ball then but she's growing into her fur.  She has boundless energy and loves to play and chase after balls and attack "mice."  She is my first pet and she is the perfect kitten; I am so thankful to Doc Williams for bringing us together!

Chance was adopted when he was 8 week old puppy.  We thought he was going to be small, but he ended up being 60 lbs, but we still love him.

The Frick Family

On July 12 of this year we adopted a miniature poodle (her turn-in name was Precious) who we renamed to Yazhi which is Navaho for "little one". I want to bring her by for all to see her..but due to scheduling "issues" that has not occurred yet, so here's a pic for you to see. Yazhi (left) is pictured with her little sister Dakota (right).  They love each other and are inseparable. Yazhi is a wonderful addition to our family and we quickly fell in love with her. Thanks for all you do.

I adopted a little black scruffy chi-mix about 2 months ago from you.  She was being called 'Rosie', but we have renamed her "Kate Spade" after the famous purse designer!  When I got Kate, she was thin, her hair was thin, she was still bleeding because she'd just had puppies, (and had been abused by children) and she just seemed pitiful and scared to death!  When I took her home, wobbly and sleepy a few days  after her spay, she still seemed like what my mother called an "old, sad soul".  Well so much has changed since then!  Kate has gained  1.25 pounds.  (Now a whole 9 lbs.) She spent some time with me up at college, but I moved apartments and won't be able to have her back at school with me until January, so she stayed in Goose Creek with my parents.  Kate's personality has changed entirely!  She is so spunky and funny and thinks she is larger than life.  She gets up very tall on her hind legs to give our 70 lb. yellow lab lots of kisses every morning!  She aggressively plays, barks, and rolls with Maggie and likes to steal Maggie's toys away!  (Maggie is older and glad to have a new playmate, though Maggie seems scared of Kate!)  Kate has absolutely stolen my parents hearts...she went from only being allowed to stay for a short period and not being allowed on the furniture to perching on my dad's lap anytime he his home, licking my mom's whole face anytime she knows she has been naughty, and sleeping between them in their bed at night!  She thinks it is so funny to steal my little brother's small stuffed animals and shake them all over to be sure they are 'dead'.  She bounces off the walls whenever a car ride or a trip outside is mentioned!  Whenever she can, she will play in the backyard for hours at a time...it's obvious she never really had a chance to run free or get a little dirty before!  I don't think my parents want to give her back as she  makes them laugh every night and has brought new life to our older lab, Maggie.  We love to dress Kate up and she is so good in the bath.  She loves to be held and will let you tote her around like an infant baby all day if you let her.  The best part is that the whole neighborhood has decided they just love her, especially the children.  She's gone from being really afraid of them, to really excited whenever she sees a small person.  She loves to chase and be chased, and it's amazing how each and every child that lives in the circle (about 10) treats her gently and with respect and kindness.  People truly can 't get enough of her, and if our family or I am going anywhere or to visit anyone, the first question is always "are you bringing Kate?"  We spoil her with lots of love and snugly blankets and lean treats!

Kate has been wonderful and definitely worth it.  People want to know where they can get one, but we tell them she's a one-of-a-kind and to go to Doc Williams!

Hi, I am Jerry.  I have a big family now.  I really love it here.  My mom takes me on 3 walks a day.  I get lots of hugs and kisses!  I have to stay in a crate when they leave but I really would rather go in the car.  I was just allowed to sleep with mommy and daddy and I love it.  They bought me a bed of my own, I had to sleep there last night.  It was ok cause I got to sleep right next to my mommy though. I am very good with other dogs!  I go to school once a week and play with some friends!  I also have a friend in the neighborhood.  It has been so nice. I love to play all the time.  I get lots of food and treats.  My daddy runs with me! He's my favorite. I cry when he goes to work. I really do love it here.  I have settled in here just perfectly.  I am so happy!

The Hawes Family

Last month I had to have my companion of 14 years put to sleep because of kidney failure (Smokey my wonderful Siamese).  I decided I was going to wait at least a year before I got another pet.  After 7 weeks of loneliness I knew it was time to get another pet in my life.

I came in to your office on April 18, 2006 looking to adopt two kittens.  There were no kittens to adopt.  I walked around looking at the adults cats.  When I walked around Dusty's cage (GUS) he seemed to follow me around while the other cats had just stayed in the same position.  It was like he was saying look at me.

After holding him for a little while I decided to take him home and I am very glad I did.  He is a very loving cat. Even though I have only had him for a few days he has a very special place in my heart.  Each day I feel we are learning new things about each other and I think we will have a wonderful life together.  I feel God led me to stop at your place Tuesday and to pick out Dusty.

You should get so much fulfillment from your job knowing how you help bring wonderful animals and people together.

We adopted Lucy (formerly Lexus) in February.  Since then she has stolen our hearts…and our shoes and socks.  She is spoiled rotten, but always returns our love and affection with lots of kisses.

We adopted a 2 year old dog named Bud-Ro last August.  He was already a very happy dog then!  Bud-Ro immediately had a name change (he didn't seem to attached to his former name) and  he is now Yukon Cornelius.  He is one of the happiest, most thankful, and most loving animals we have ever come into contact with.  All he wants is to be loved (and fed), and we are so lucky that he picked us for adoption!

Hi, I'm Brittany and I was adopted on December 22, 2005. Philly, a 3-year old Dachshund/Pit-bull boy, and I share our home with two cats, get to roam around the whole house, and enjoy having a doggy door that leads into our yard. My new parents love to play and cuddle with us. I really like having my belly rubbed and I give kisses in return. Philly and I love when Mommy and Daddy take us for walks on the nature trails in our neighborhood. We are all free-feeders and our parents make sure that there is always plenty of food and fresh water. Daddy loves to spoil us by giving us pig ears, chicken strips, and doggy biscuits. I have settled into my new home nicely and feel very comfortable. In the first picture, you can see me on my very own doggy chair. In the second picture, you can see me cleaning my buddy Philly.

This is a recent picture of our wonderful love "Molly" that we adopted in May of 2005!  Molly is quite the spoiled girl!  When she's not chasing tennis balls or riding in the family boat, she can usually be found lounging around the pool with her brother (and partner in crime) Cooper!

Since Molly's new mom is a pet portrait artist, her portrait will be featured in the SPCA's "Furry Affair" Auction on August 25th (2006) at the city gallery in Charleston.

We adopted a husky on June 10 named Vesta. Her new name is Indy. We were looking for a dog that would get along with our other dog and cat (both adopted from SPCA's also) Indy fit nicely into our family. She has been a
very wonderful and loving gal. We strongly recommended that anyone looking for a pet check out the SPCA's. They are the most loving and thankful pets there is.

Mr. and Mrs. K. Frederick

We adopted our boy Riley in May of 2006. We drove by the shelter and stopped by on a fluke. We looked at a couple of dogs, but came right back to him and home with us he came.  He has been a pure pleasure!  WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM!!!!  Needless to say he has been spoiled rotten by his two older sisters.  I'm glad we stopped!

In August '05, I was suffering from depression. My mother decided to adopt a dog for me. After looking at all the dogs, we decided to pick Jenkins. He has been the light of my days since then. He is just a joy to have around and I could not ask for more.

In June '06, we adopted a pitbull mix and named her Jesse.  She is a joy to have around.  She and Jenkins are inseparable. We look forward to seeing the every night dinnertime wrestling match.
